I am Count Sebastiano Capponi.

Today, I have selected some of our most precious bottles from the family’s private collection, to offer you the essence of this extraordinary land.

These bottles are not just a memory of the passing time here at Villa Calcinaia.

They are an invitation to enter our centuries-old history.

This selection includes:

• Villa Calcinaia Chianti Classico 1969 – A historic and rare vintage, a bottle to collect or… to share on truly special occasions. This bottle is in a 0.720 L format, as was customary in the past.
• Villa Calcinaia Chianti Classico Riserva 2004 – A selection from the sunniest and best-exposed hillside vineyards of the estate. Long macerations and aging in 30-hl Slavonian oak casks and 500-liter tonneaux for at least 20 months. A structured and complex wine, perfect for enjoying at the table. Format: 0.750 L.
• Villa Calcinaia Casarsa I.G.T. Toscana 2004 – A Super Tuscan made from Merlot grapes, whose original vineyard was mistakenly planted in 1967, thinking it was Sangiovese. The wine was aged in 225-liter barriques for 24 months. A wine of elegance and character, to be enjoyed slowly. Format: 0.750 L.

All bottles are wrapped in vintage-style tissue paper from the 1960s.

Included in the package, you will receive a personalized, autographed copy of the book “A Blend of Black and Silver – The Capponi Counts, Chianti, and Calcinaia,” published by the Capponi Family Study Center and printed in a limited edition to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Villa Calcinaia.

Everything will arrive in a fine wooden case, sealed with the Capponi Family’s historic wax stamp.
