Sanforte – Toscana I.G.T
30,00 €
Sangiovese Forte, or Sanforte, was first mentioned by Villifranchi in 1773. Compared to a standard Sangiovese clone, under the same conditions, Sanforte tends to produce more clusters per vine and ripens earlier. Its name derives from its ability to accumulate sugar in the berries; in fact, it was planted in the Lamole area—a particularly cool location with significant temperature variations—precisely because of this trait. Sanforte was and still is ideal for revitalizing weaker Sangiovese vines grown in challenging viticultural terrains.
