This is where the Sangiovese grapes come from, harvested at aromatic maturity while still young. Only the free-run must is extracted from the whole bunches, resulting in yields well below the typical level for this type.

Vintage 2020, brut; its aromatic and gustatory expression is grounded in balance, complexity, and remarkable liveliness generated from the acid profile.

Pairings

Ideal with a fish-based menu, from sushi to mixed fried seafood or fatty fish. It shines with grilled fish, contrasting the sometimes slightly bitter notes of high-heat cooking.

Charles VIII King of France

In November 1494, Charles VIII of France attempted to extort a colossal sum of money from the Florentine Republic, threatening that otherwise he would “blow the trumpets.” At this point, the Florentine statesman Piero Capponi tore up the proposed treaty and replied, “We will ring our own bells.” The exchange is well-known; few sources, however, cite the king’s response.
